Dr. Roessel’s Vision

• Support psychiatrists in Area 7 in advocating for patients and culturally appropriate best practices

• Task the APA to address the Climate Crisis and its impact on mental health

• Stay active in teaching as faculty for Climate Aware Therapy course focused on enhancing therapists' knowledge about the variable impacts of climate change on Indigenous peoples and other marginalized groups

• Be a leader to dismantle structural racism in psychiatry and strive for inclusion and racial equality

• During her term as Area 7 Trustee she was the co-chair of the Structural Racism Accountability Committee from 2021-2022

• Be a voice for the Underrepresented In Psychiatry and advocate for diversity in leadership
